Locking pin for the rear axle on 600cc Micro Sprints and Jr. Sprints (JRX). It acts as a safety against a wheel nut backing off during a race.
Cheap insurance for a part of the car you do not want to think about mid-main. Replace them any time one gets bent or hard to seat.
