A 3″ snap ring for the birdcage housing, locking the double-row bearing in place. Small part, and the only thing stopping a bearing from walking out of its housing under load.
Snap rings take a set over time and lose tension, and a snap ring that has been removed and refitted several times is not the part it was. They cost almost nothing – replace rather than reuse whenever you have a birdcage apart.
